Thursday, October 17
3:00 pm – 3:45 pm, during Amazon Free Hours

Watch classic folktales come to life in this immersive theater experience! This children’s theater production will feature several captivating stories:

  1. Anansi the Spider and The Tug of War (Ghana): A tale that teaches us never to underestimate someone, even if they are small.
  2. Why the Sky is So Far Away (Nigeria): A story that encourages us to think about taking care of our resources.
  3. The Elephants are Marching (African Diaspora): A contemporary tale recognizing the importance of elephants in the context of climate change.

Join us for an afternoon of folkloric tales performed through a blend of music and theater. This program offers families an opportunity to explore Pan-African culture and wisdom while enjoying stories that will spark your imagination!

This is the third in a three-part cultural storytelling series with Bridges: A Pan-Afrikan Arts Movement, a global arts initiative bringing opportunities for international arts exchange, community advocacy and global partnerships.

This program is free and included with Museum entry during Amazon Free Hours. Capacity is limited; first come, first served.
