Ti Atis (Little Artists)
Saturday, December 14, 2024
2:00 pm – 4:00 pm
Haiti Cultural Exchange returns to the Brooklyn Children’s Museum for a new season of interactive youth and family programming! Learn about diverse art forms and celebrate Haitian culture through activities and performances facilitated by Haitian artists.
This December, PwavKAP (Keep Art Poppin) will lead families in the traditional art of Haitian kite-making to teach youth basic geometry concepts while staying connected to Haitian culture. Ten families will learn the stages of making the kite from skeleton to decoration, using participants’ own shapes and designs! Enjoy storytelling open to all before participants head outdoors to fly their kites.
Ti Atis (Little Artists) takes place on the second Saturday of each month from November 2024 through May 2025. Each Saturday features a different instructor and art form from the community. Check out the full slate of programs here!
