Step into the world of the Gullah people, direct descendants of slaves brought to the United States in the 17th century to work the rice plantations Arriving in time to coincide with Black History Month, visitors will learn about these West African ancestors as they design their own Gullah-style quilts, catch shrimp with nets, and plant okra in the garden.
